What is a corn crib?

A corn crib is a traditional farm building used for the storage and drying of harvested corn. It is typically constructed of wood with a slatted design that allows air to circulate and remove moisture from the corn. The crib is raised off the ground on posts or stones to prevent rodents and other animals from accessing the corn. The corn cob is kept in the crib while the husk and other debris are removed, and the corn is allowed to dry naturally until it is ready for storage or processing. In modern times, corn cribs have been replaced by more advanced grain storage technologies, but they still remain in use on some small farms for aesthetic purposes.
